The Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center

The Hildebrand is a regional organization located in Massachusetts providing shelter, transitional programs and services to homeless families in Massachusetts.  I worked with them for eight years on a wide variety of programs and acted a special projects manager.

As such, I co-designed & implemented several projects (creation of its first website, fund development campaign, workforce development program, the development of a resource for homeless families, website renovation team management, data collection project, among others).

As Interim Program Director, I oversaw a multi-site program in Cambridge and Dorchester serving homeless families and their children. My responsibilities included the management of a staff of 25 as well as the management of day-to-day operations.

Last but not least, I helped to restructure the agency as part of a team of executive staff and consultants. It was an intense yearlong process that involved restructuring the organization’s organizational structure, changing all staff’s job description, hiring new staff positions and managing the current operations while transitioning to a new contract with drastically different requirements.

I secured a 10-year $50 Million contract for the agency from the State. I also developed and implemented training programs for agency staff and provided them with user-friendly tools to help them manage stringent new reporting requirements.

“During my tenure as Executive Director/CEO of the Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center, Inc., Romain Murphy Consulting has been a strategic partner at various stages of the growth, development and evolution of the organization.

One of the major projects undertaken by Marie-Rose was to restructure and provide interim management our Congregate Shelter Program with a focus on establishing consistency across program sites, addressing salary disparities, creating the tools necessary and providing accompanying training for staff. Among other initiatives, she researched and created Workforce Development options aimed at increasing the capacity of our head of households to earn livable wages. When requested, she worked part of a team to facilitate the successful renewal of our multi-million dollar contract with the state.

Marie-Rose’s exceptional skills, insight and work experiences contributed significantly to supporting the agency’s vision of self-sufficiency and bringing that vision to fruition. I recommend her without reservation.”
